For 30 years he sold real hard,
His voice had a little hum.
His body sagged - his clothes fit wrong.
But o' what a chant he had sung.
The people's auctioneer - he was,
They called his name for years.
They called him in and paid
Big bucks for him to save the day,
Some records fell - new ones set
As he went along his way.
He looks back now on yesterday
With a smile upon his face.
Thank God he says as he shuffles
Along for letting him in the race.
